Today I had the opportunity to see the latest 3D movie released by IMAX Corp. for it’s very large screen theaters.
I saw “The Adventures of Tintin 3D” and I must say that I really loved the movie. It was my first ever experience in IMAX Cinema and my £16.75 was worth every penny. There are two IMAX Cinemas in London. The first one is near the London Waterloo Railway Station and famously known as the British Film Institute (BFI) IMAX and the second one is in Swiss Cottage which is a recent addition to the IMAX Cinemas.
I live near the Stonebridge Park station so I took the Bakerloo Line and changed at Baker Street station and alighted at the Swiss Cottage station via Jubilee Line. I was wondering how far the IMAX is and as soon as I was outside the station, I saw “ODEON IMAX” written just across the street. After reaching there I was a little disappointed by the theater area as it appeared a little small to me. But anyway, I went to the ticket collection machine and tried to collect my three pre-booked tickets as I was with two of my friends. Unfortunately, the machine gave us an error and told us to collect the tickets from the billing counter. *Puffff*.
The theater was perfectly cleaned and maintained. Then we went inside the IMAX Screen (Screen 1) and then the real experience started. We were then provided with our 3D glasses and when I took a glance on the screen, I WAS AMAZED! The screen was MASSIVE. After watching the non-3D or I should say “2D” advertisements, we were asked to put on our 3D glasses. Then started the 3D experience. The trailers in 3D for the movies like Happy Feet 3 and others were good. Not only the 3D effects but the sound effects of the theater were just amazing. The 08:50PM movie then started at 09:15PM after all those trailers and advertisements. The seats were very comfortable as we booked the Premier class. The length of the movie was 107 minutes and I was not bored even for a minute during the movie. The movie was as good as I expected and the it had all the aspects I was looking forward to for my first IMAX experience. ACTION, THRILLER AND EFFECTS, it was the perfect combination.
Overall, my first experience in IMAX Swiss Cottage was thoroughly enthralling and I definitely recommend this movie as it’s a must watch. Snowy (the dog) steals the show.
Theater Rating: 7.5
Movie Rating: 8.0
Here are some of the photos I clicked in IMAX Swiss Cottage.

Coldplay‘s new album “Mylo Xyloto” was officially released 4 days ago. I already saw the 1st video of their album “Every Teardrop is a Waterfall” and really loved it! You can see the video below:
Being a proud premium member of Spotify, I tried to search this album on the Spotify software but didn’t find anything. I stumbled on internet and found out that Coldplay has kept their album Mylo Xyloto off the streaming services and forcing their fans to buy the physical copies of MP3 downloads. I thought to myself, “That’s SILLY”. Despite of paying £9.99 each month for the premium service, I won’t be able to stream the new album of my favorite band. But anyway, I found out that many bands like Metallica, Led Zeplin and others have kept off their albums from the streaming services. But still I’ll never stop using Spotify Premium because of the services like Mobile App and Offline Playlists.
After the disappointment caused by Coldplay’s record label, I bought the Mylo Xyloto audio CD and imported the files into my Spotify library. And believe me, “IT’S AWESOME”. I really liked the tracks in this album and one of my favorite is “Paradise”, which is the 1st track of the CD after the intro track “Mylo Xyloto”. After listening to the track “Paradise”, I youtubed it and saw the video. The video is filmed in Britain (London) and also Africa and is about an elephant who escapes from a Zoo and take a flight from Heathrow Airport to Africa. Anyway, you can see the video below:
But on the contrary, I think that the bands like Coldplay and Metallica should not put their albums off the streaming services because a service like Spotify is the real answer to Piracy!
